Some Days Are Darker

Some Days Are Darker are a three-piece band from New York City that blends the brooding darkness of goth rock greats like H.I.M and The Cure with the synth pop sensibilities of Depeche Mode and New Order.
Fronted by singer/guitarist/songwriter, Lear Mason, the group is a veritable power house of multi-instrumentalists and songwriters with decades of experience both on the stage and in the studio, including Chris Martin on bass/guitars/synths and Robbie Williamson on drums/synths/programming/production.
Some Days Are Darker was founded in 2019 as a singer/songwriter project and an emotional outlet for Mason, who released their early work independently and toured as a solo act. In 2021 he met Williamson while recording their debut self-titled LP which was released in October of 2022, featuring a collective of musicians that included long-time collaborator, Martin. Later that month, they played their first proper show
as a band supporting UK legends, The Chameleons, and continued to build their live presence sharing the stage with contemporaries like Vision Video and House of Harm, most recently supporting German post-punk legends Pink Turns Blue on their East Coast US/Canadian tour.
From a narrative standpoint, the Some Days Are Darker catalog dances like a flame on a razor’s edge between love and death, exploring themes of love, loss and rebirth—offering melancholic beauty on the surface and boundless depths of introspection for those willing to delve deeper.
